About the challenge

AI Innovation Hackathon is a beginner-friendly event that aims to teach participants and give them the resources they need to solve problems related to AI. The event focuses on AI as it relates to the tracks of health, education, and art. It is a great opportunity to learn from industry professionals and connect with the tech community at DKU!

The hackathon will take place on Friday November 24th, from 12:00 - 6:00 pm.

12:00 - 12:05: Opening remarks

12:05 - 12:30: Keynote presentation (Fan Liang)

12:45 -13:00: Challenge introduction

13:00 - 17:00: Work time

Requirements

What to Build

Participants will build a product that solves an AI-related problem in the fields of health, education and/or art. They should have a clear problem that they are trying to solve and a tech-related solution.

What to Submit

Participants will submit a prototype of their product, likely as a series of wireframes. They will also present their project to the judges in a 3-5 minute presentation with slides. They should state their project name, introduce the problem they are addressing and give background/context, and then present their solution.

Judging Criteria

  • Relavance
    How well does the project fit the overarching theme of AI, in either the education, health, or art track? Does it have the potential to be useful? Is it widely applicable?
  • Sophistication
    Is the quality of the project good? Was effort put in? Is it structured in an intuitive way and address a problem or theme efficiently?
  • Originality
    Is the idea unique? Is it something that hasn't been done before?
